Seate , a community council in Mokhotlong district is one of the councils wherein DPE is working. Under the Building a People’s Movement for Peace, Development, Accountability and Democratisation of Lesotho Project, DPE through its community animator has engaged 19 Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to be legally registered and have proper structures and organizational guidelines. 16 of the the 19 organizations are in the process of finalization, while the remainder have achieved the legal status.
Furthermore, Human Rights Community Committees have been established with an aim of resolving conflicts, protecting and promoting human rights . A space for dialogue, discussion and engagement is going to be created through the community library initiative. This stage will enable people of Seate to a rare opportunity of engaging and deliberating on key issues that affect by seeking answers and clarifications from office bearers, including Councillors and Member of Parliament and other government representatives.
