LEKOKOANENG COMMUNITY LIBRARY ON THE ZOOM PLATFORM

The community of the areas where DPE operates were provided with internet connection in all the libraries. On the 7th of April, Lekokoaneng was identified for an experiment where the training on how to use the internet was given.

The visiting team included the team from DPE and DLN partners. The activities of that day were led by the DPE IT Technician Mr. Tsepo Marasi.  It came to the climax by introducing the community to how to start the ZOOM meeting which was very exciting to those attending.

This experience had been enjoyed by other Community libraries in the eight DPE areas. It was very touching to see how people reacted to it.  “ I heard about computers and the use of the internet, however, I never dreamed to be one who can operate it” said one community member.  The communities in the area were very impressed by DPE work.

This was witnessed by Andreas and Lisbet the DLN team who were very impressed to see the fulfillment of this community program. They were also happy to see members of the community happily sitting in front of laptops connecting with the DPE team at the office through the zoom platform. ‘Me Mamotšabi Malebo acclaimed with amusement: “we are happy to have a gift like this one because now we have our own place where we meet as CBOs to discuss our issues and also it is my first time to use a computer, as I used to see it only on pictures, we thank DPE and DLN”.
