Development for Peace Education (DPE) is one of the three implementing partners on Youth Power Hub initiative in partnership with UNICEF Lesotho, IOM Lesotho under the Co-funding of the European Union Lesotho, has carried out and facilitated the CSOs cascade training in Quthing district as part of the trainings currently in progress in all districts of Lesotho, equipping youth-led and youth focused civil society organizations –CSOs with vital skills and knowledge on issues governing organizational management.
The training took place on the 18th – 21st August 2025 at Villa Maria mission. The two CSOs that are part of the YPH namely : Migrant worker’s association and TAIYO participated with its 5 members each, while the three which applied but did not qualify, participated with one representative each. Furthermore, the office of the District Administrator – DA also participated. Among the issues which were discussed included the following; corporate governance, financial management, Advocacy for change, diversity, inclusion and equity, communication and visibility, project management, M&E and the group dynamics as well.

DPE Coordinator Valentine Mosoeu and Melida Bohloko – Peace Education Researcher were facilitators as well as other members from IOM Lesotho Mr Ts’epo Molefi, the Migrant association and TAIYO as those who have been part of the training of trainers – ToT held in Maseru Thaba – Bosiu.
The Training was very intensive, Therefore facilitators delivered the content according to the manual very well. Among the modules discussed debates became strong in particular the diverse, inclusion and equity as participants who are the citizens though they speak sixhoza raise the issue that they feel excluded as they are denied privilege to use and enjoy their language fully in schools and other activities held in the country for a longer time.
Therefore, it was an outstanding module as it took a longer time than other modules as per plan, since it has caused strong debates with practical examples happening on the ground specifically in Quthing district.

Upon the closure of the session on the last day of the training Ntate Ts’epo Molefi from IOM Lesotho and who facilitated the communication and visibility module urged the CSOs to go back and implement effectively what has been delivered to them for the growth of their organizations for the purpose of being able to qualify for the seed funding which will be given to organizations by UNICEF, to run their projects . Further the representative from DAs office Ntate …… also congratulated the CSOs participated in the 4-day training to fully collaborate with the office of DA with the activities they are implementing within the district and they will be fully supported if they need to.
